OVERVIEW

For children three years old and up, I create a weekly lesson plan which involves time for learning about God, academics (phonics and numbers), arts and crafts, skill development, story time, circle time, music time, and indoor and outdoor play.

BIBLE TIME

Bible stories are taught throughout the year. Your child will learn biblical principles and how they can apply them to their lives. Memory verses are introduced approximately every three weeks, and time is set aside each day to spend in praise and worship.

ARTS AND CRAFTS

A variety of art projects will be created throughout the year. Your child will get to explore a variety of mediums such as crayon, marker, and paint. Around special holidays, themed-based art projects will be created.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT

Skill development is incorporated throughout the day. During these times your child will learn new songs and poems, listen to stories, practice classroom skills such as tracing or cutting, and practice classroom habits. Social and emotional skills are also addressed during these times.

MEALS

I provide Breakfast, AM Snack, Lunch, and PM Snack. Meals consist of the following components: Breakfast - fruit, grain, milk; Lunch - protein, grain, two veggies or one fruit and one veggie, milk; Snack - two components of milk, protein, grain, or fruit.

ACADEMICS

Your child will be introduced to all 26 letters in the alphabet, both uppercase and lowercase. I will teach the sounds of the letters, handwriting, phonetic awareness, and early reading as the child show readiness. Your child will also learn to spell and write their name. The numbers 1-30 will be taught to your child, and we will count as high as we can.

Calendar

CIRCLE TIME

Circle time is facilitated every morning. We cover the calendar, days of week, months of the year, seasons, weather, shapes, colors (english and spanish), right and left, and the Pledge of Allegiance. Key words, such as days of the week and types of weather are also taught with American Sign Language.

PLAY TIME

On nice days, I love to go outside with the kids. I currently have a two slide climber, a single slide, a pedal-powered bulldozer, a seesaw, a swing, balls, and a variety of digging tools for your child to play with. There is plenty of room to run and a place to play in the sand. When we play indoors, your child may choose from a variety of vehicles, blocks, dress-up clothes, cooking toys, animals, people, balls, and more.

NAP TIME

Your child will take a daily nap to ensure that they stay healthy and rested. Sleeping mats are provided and your child gets to bring a sheet and their favorite blanket.

MY DESIRE

I seek to provide a nurturing environment for children entrusted to my care and to offer a high quality program that addresses the entire development of the child -- spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually. The first five years are very important, and together, we can help your child excel academically and to develop a love for God, good self-esteem, and other positive character traits.
